I hope you enjoyed this past week of gift card tutorials! If you missed them, go back and check out the SIMPLE holders I showed you how to create: an envelope-style, a snowman, a simple card and a baseball. The week of Christmas creating is being capped with the wonderful creations of our Guest Designer.  We sent her today’s Fancy Pants St. Nick steal, and she just blew us away with all of the fabulous projects she made.

Meet our November Guest Designer, Wendi Robinson:

I’m wife to my hot hubby, Jeremy for 14 years, and mom to my 3 wonderful, cute kids who keep me super busy (all 3 kids are named after cities in different countries).  I LOVE my iPod and iTunes and I’m a HUGE Depeche Mode fan. I love to walk, relax at the beach, and hang out in the backyard with my kids.

Scrapbooking has become my creative outlet which I LOVE to do in my spare time. I used to make very raw scrapbooks back in high school with construction paper, Crayola Markers and stickers. I got into the hobby about a year before my oldest was born (he’s 11 now). I had to put it on hold for a couple of years, as I didn’t have a scrappy space, had two little kids and not much extra time. About 8 years ago, I finally got a scrap area and dove right in, never looking back. I enjoy creating layouts, making cards, mini albums and altering…yup I LOVE it all!

I am extra excited to be a guest designer here this month. I’ve been a fan of Crafty Steals for a LONG time. You can find my work on my blog, Scrappy Day in Paradise.

Wendi dabbled in a little bit of everything with the kit and showed us how much you can get out of one collection.  The first project, is her “Merry” banner.

Next, she moved onto layouts.  I love how she used the Crafty Basics twine to add detail to her ornaments, and used to buttons to add some depth to the polka dots in her first layout.

And on both of the layouts I am really digging how she loosely looped the twine on the banners and distressed the edges of her entire page.

Wendi also created FOUR different cards. Again, those distressed edges just make the card seem more unique – like the paper itself was handmade.

Wendi also got to play with some Crafty Basics washi tape – and was creative with that washi on some of her cards.  What a cute tree and fun flags!

Thank you so much Wendi for showing us all some new ways to use both our Crafty Basics and the lovely Fancy Pants St Nick Collection.  It was fun to have you as our Guest Designer and I’m personally in awe that you can create so much with three kids at home!  All of you other CraftyStealers, you can see more of Wendi at her blog, Scrappy Day in Paradise,

If you are planning some crafty time for yourselves this weekend, take a look at our November Sketch Challenge – you have a great chance at winning some Crafty Steals goodies if you can get your projects uploaded by midnight CST on Monday, December 3rd.

Have a great weekend, and I’ll see you back here Sunday for a little lesson in some fun photography.
