Good morning and Happy New Year!!

I don’t know about you but I very, very rarely scrap layouts about myself. And when I say rarely, I really mean never. You know how it is…kids, vacations, pets, but not yourself. Well friends, this year, I’m changing that. Starting today.

Every year when my children start school, I make a layout that is all about them. Here was last year’s layout.

As you can see, I just listed a few of their favorites, a quote from them and added a little bit of journaling. I’m piggy-backing this idea for a layout about me, but tweaking the questions just a tad.  Here is my list…

Now all I have to do is get someone to take a picture of me…because we all know those photos are few and far between!  I will probably make my husband do this as well, as I think it’s a fun way for future generations to get to know the real people behind the pictures. Heck, if your whole family fills out one of these, that would make a cool FAMILY layout or mini album. If you have extended family, get them in the game too!

One goal I am making this year is to make myself more present. In pictures, not just behind the camera. In moments, not just observing, but participating. I am also going back to journaling, to preserve my thoughts in longer form. As I grow older, I’m realizing how incredibly important it is to connect with our history, and to learn from those who have come before us.

I hope this new year brings you all joy and peace.
